Windows 11: The operating system for hybrid work and learning

Windows 11 is the new operating system designed for hybrid work and learning. Here are a few ways users can get started now:
  • Once Windows 11 is available in the coming weeks, join the Windows Insiders Program to start to experience Windows 11 in preview. If you are an Enterprise or Education customer, you can also use Azure Virtual Desktop to start to explore Windows 11.
  • Invested in a secured-core PC.  Microsoft also invested in technologies to make it easier to go passwordless with Windows Hello for Business.
  • Kick off a pilot to see how well it works in your environment.

New Teams and Outlook updates

Create tasks from messages: Messaging conversations often result in follow-up actions, to assist with this, Microsoft has added the ability to create tasks from any Teams chat or channel conversation.  To create the task, click the ellipses (…) in the pop-out menu, then select More actions and choose Create task.
Spotlight multiple users during a meeting: Organizers and presenters can now spotlight up to seven participants simultaneously during meetings. For meetings that have more than one speaker or presenter, multiple spotlights are a great way to focus all attendees’ views on those specific video feeds. Once a single participant has been spotlighted, simply click on the context menu of your additional participant(s) and select Add Spotlight.

Manage your attendee’s camera settings: Microsoft has added the ability to manage attendee audio and video permissions in Teams meetings to help prevent disruptions during meetings. Now, you can configure the permissions to have all attendees’ camera-enabled or disabled before the meeting. You can also enable or disable the ability for individual attendees to use their cameras.

Make connections within your organization: The new Organization Explorer in Outlook allows you to find, discover, and explore people and relationships through a new organizational browser experience. Find colleagues, discover team relationships, explore their skills, see their current availability, and more right within Outlook. Organization Explorer is now in preview and available for Office 365 Insiders..
