A question you may ask is “why do I want to do this?” Well, consider this scenario: You want to copy and paste the content from a vendor’s email into a Team chat, or you are summarizing a question sent by a customer into a Teams post. These scenarios happen often and soon it will be easy to transfer between Outlook and Teams. Teams is a much better place to store work and ongoing conversations rather in Outlook. Conversations are easier to have and scroll through and Teams also gives you a central location for storing relevant files. The user will have 2 options for sharing email with Teams: Share email to Team in Outlook. This is the quickest and easiest way to share you email with Teams in Outlook. If you open an email in Outlook, you can open the ⋯ More options menu and click Share to Teams. From here, choose the channel or person you want to send the email to, decide whether you want to include attachments, and press Share. You'll find "Share to Teams" in the message ribbon in Outlook for Windows and macOS. When you share, you can send the email to a channel, a person, or a private group chat. PIC Forward an email to the channel email address. If you want to have more control over what's sent and you only need to send the email to a channel, using the forwarding email address is likely a better option for you. Each channel in Teams has an email address, that includes private channels. To forward an email to a Teams channel using the channel's email address: Next to the channel name, click ⋯ More options > Get email address. If it's the first time anyone's ever used this email address, it will take a few seconds to create. Each channel has a unique email address. If you don't see the option, make sure this feature is enabled in your system and in your Team. Copy the email address that's provided. Open the email you want to forward and click Forward. Remember that you can send this email from any email account including Gmail, iCloud, Live, or your work or school account. Teams Templates! Beginning in October, users will soon be able to quickly create new Teams using Microsoft Teams templates. Users will have the choice of 13 pre-built or base templates to choose from when they create a new team. The templates cover a range of use cases including managing a project or coordinating an event. These base templates have a predefined team structure with a set of channels, tabs, and apps; these can be duplicated but not edited. Microsoft Teams Spotlight Microsoft has now begun rolling out the ability to lock select video feeds. The Spotlight feature comes in handy for when the presenter’s feed is the most important in a meeting or in classroom-like sessions. Additionally, while the presenter’s feed is the main feed for the participants, the presenters themselves do not see the same view as they are served the tiled layout of participants. Other participants’ feeds can also be set as the main feed by the presenter. The ‘Spotlight’ option can be found in the ellipsis menu (…) in the 'participants' tab in a meeting. Currently, the feature seems to be available only for the Windows and Mac clients of the app.
